Sydney Turns Eight
This year was a big year for Sydney! She turned eight and got baptized! Luckily Sydney has made some friends that could come to her birthday party, which in her mind was going to be a Webkinz party but what do you do with that? So we settled for a Webkinz cake, and games, a pinata, and pizza at the park. Overall, it was a success but Sydney did talk about her Texas friends that she wished she could invite.
Sydney and Dan right before she got baptized. The dress Sydney is wearing was made for me by a lady that used to babysit me - Sister Dennis. It was then worn by my sister, Erin, and almost all of my girl cousins, then my neices, then Kassie and now Sydney. Post a comment if you wore this dress.
Sydney went against the trend by choosing a special purple dress to wear after she was baptized. I did not plan very well and had to make this instead of buying it. It was the first dress I made entirely by myself - sleeves and zipper too! It started out that Sydney wanted her dress to look just like Kassie's Halloween costume from last year, only purple. I talked her down the glam spectrum and she settled for the fact that it spins around. She looked so pretty and has mostly acted pretty, too. We are so glad to have her!

She looks so pretty in her white dress and I love how she's crossing her ankles. So sweet!
Oh- and great job on her pretty purple dress. You're amazing.
I did NOT wear the dress. Gma said it wouldn't fit me. Where is the love??
I want to make Alex's dress, I've never made a dress before......maybe I'll have to call you!
Happy Birthday Sydney! Congrats on your baptism, that is super special! You did a great job on her dress, Melissa, very cute!
Beautiful dress! Beautiful girl! I can't wait till Ezra's baptism this summer... our kids are growing up so fast!
I wore the dress too!
I wore the dress! It still looks so white! When Clara is eight can I use it?
I wore that dress! I had no idea it was originally made for you. I'm sure my Mom told me but eight year olds aren't exactly the best listeners. It's fun to see it live on in the next generation.
LOL SUZ!
I cannot confirm nor deny whether I wore the dress
Happy Birthday Sydney! I think I wore the dress and loved doing so. Congrats on her baptism. Very pretty purple dress too~
I love stories of items that have been passed through families. Beautiful dress! (both of them) Katie did the same thing and chose a black dress. I thought it was cute.
I am impressed! Want to make two blessing dresses for me? :) I can't believe she is 8, what a beautiful little girl!
The dress you made looks great - no way I could have done such great work.
Can't wait too see you guys next month!
You made a dress in the middle of all that mess and just getting back from coming here! You're crazy!!! She looks super cute in it though!
Sydney, congratulations on your baptism. That is so exciting. I can't believe you are 8 years old. We really miss your bubbly personality, but hope you are making lots of new friends!
I wore that dress but it made me a little nervous that it wouldn't stay down when I went in the water. Fortunately it worked out fine.
