It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

One of the things that sold us on this house was the backyard. It is gorgeous and it has a pool! Right after we moved in, we dumped hundreds of dollars into the pool trying to get it ready to swim in, only to find out that it needed to be completely drained! So we drained it, cleaned it, and refilled it, then dumped a few hundred more dollars worth of chemicals in. We swam for a few months before it was too cold and then it sat all winter. Unfortunately, when we tested the water in the spring, it was like tap water with no trace of the chemicals we had put in last fall! We discovered that it had a leak in the fill valve, fixed that and started the chemical process all over again.
We were so frustrated and began to be very concerned about the money pit we apparently bought! Seriously, that kind of money was not in the budget! What were we going to do? Clearly, we had made a terrible mistake!
Luckily the problem turned out to be realtively cheap to fix and we have been enjoying the pool for several weeks now. In fact, the kids come home from school, put on their swimming suits and hardly come in the house (except for homework). They even have their snack and their dinner out there. It's divine! Definitely worth all the money and stress:)

Fun!!! No such thing as dumping money into a pool. It's priceless.

I'm glad you got the pool fixed! How fun for your kids. All the kids in the neighborhood are going to be living at your house this summer!

Holly has a pool at her house, and lives about 7 minutes away from me! We love going over to swim!

Would I be more jealous that you have a pool or that the weather is good enough for you to swim? Those kids are so cute. I love 'em.

Sounds nice, but admit it...you'll miss us at the pool this summer! :-)

Fun! That is perfect, especially that it's just in your back yard and you can just walk out the door and you're there instead of having to suit up, pack everyone in the car, and head for the local pool. So jealous! Enjoy!!!

I am so jealous you have a pool. I really want to visit you. :)

You can laugh about Madison's hair-I did too after the initial shock of seeing it on the carpet. Kids are going to do funny things-and not so funny things (such as that) too so I have to give myself a break.

I saw Dan's picture on facebook about Sophia's mohawk. It is funny because Mike did the same thing tonight on Madison during the kids' baths. I took a picture but didn't blog about it because there are alot of her lately and I didn't want to leave Jackson out. It was really funny though~

I love these pictures of my beautiful girls. (and that handsome Colin) Your new fence looks very nice. I like that it's see-thru.
