So maybe once in a while I blog out of guilt - now is one of those times. I'm not motivated but bonus - I got a new, AWESOME camera for Christmas so I have tons of great pictures to post. Here is the update.
Drove to Vegas for Christmas (18 hours in the car with four kids - crazy). We are not traveling for the holidays again. First, you have to be very selective about presents. Second, you almost always forget something (we forgot out stockings and all the presents that were under our tree - and Dan has this thing about NOT going back so even though we were only 10 minutes into the drive, we DID NOT turn around). Third, you have to have everything done a week early so that you can leave - all the neighbor presents, the cards, the parties. So we're happy we went this time, especially because my mom is going on a mission and we won't be with her next year. But hopefully Erin will be here. Mitch and Tricia are welcome but they don't like us enough to come:) Here are some pictures:
Our version of the nativity:

The kids in their Christmas jammies running for their presents Christmas morning. The new camera captured it perfectly! Also, we had Dan's mom on the webcam so she could see everyone opening presents.
The kids opening the Wii. I'm a pro at Super Mario, can't believe how that stuff comes back to you.

Sophia's first Christmas. Of course the bows and ribbons were the best part. Forget all the cute clothes and toys she got.
All decked out in our RedSox gear. We're fans by inheritance:) Funny story - in the summer, I posted a picture of Kassie wearing a Yankees hat. "Some" people could not believe that I would let my child wear something of the devil:) Thus, everyone got to have new duds IF we got rid of the offending hat. We did - promise! But it did take some explaining for Kassie to understand - I summed it up by telling her what I read on a bumper sticker in the Official store across from Fenway - "I have two favorite teams - the Boston RedSox and anyone who beats the Yankees!"

I honestly can't imagine trying to do Christmas that way. There is no way I could have everything done a week early!!!! It looks like it was a success...congratulations! I didn't know that your mom was planning on going on a mission! When is she planning on going?
The way you explained that to Kassie is hilarious, but are we really that bad? I didn't think so, but I guess we're not worth it!
Aunt Kass is going on a mission?!? When? Where? Has she turned in her papers?
Glad you guys had a great holiday!
Holy cow, you look like your dad. --Andrew
