Now you're good. You settle in with your secret stash of ice cream and the phone. You call your friend and you're in the middle of a heart-to-heart when - SERIOUSLY?!? - someone else is out of bed! They don't come bother you, so you keep on with your ice cream and phone call, hoping they'll go back to bed by themselves.
You finish the phone call and go to check on everyone to make sure you weren't too remiss as a parent while you were on the phone. Missing child. Start checking under beds, in the bathrooms, downstairs. Where could this kid be? Oh, asleep in the linen closet. Now why didn't I think of that?
It was fun to talk to you, Amy:) Good thing your battery died when it did, I might have forgotten that I needed to check on my kids and I would have let Sydney sleep there all night.

That is hilarious! I can see my Sydney doing that too, she's an in and out of bed kid already and there's no one else to worry about yet even! :)
As I was reading this post I was thinking to myself...I was on the phone when this all happened. But girl I had no idea you were eatin' ice cream...LUCKY! Megs has never fallen asleep anywhere but her bed..no fun huh! You guys getall the fun! It was so great to catch up with you and thanks for the shout out:)
Glad to know there are others in blogland that stalk as much as I do:)
Melissa, wasn't it you who told me years ago that you put those child proof covers on the knobs of their kids bedroom doors to keep them from coming out at night?
Bedtime is so stressful- Taylor and Zach were pretty good, but it's getting progressively worse lately. It's amazing how thirsty they become when you say the word "Bedtime!"
Yes, I was the one who put those plastic covers on their knobs. And I even went so far as to lock them in by turning the handle so the lock faced out. But then they got too old for locking and they figured out how to break the plastic covers off. Back to square one:(
Well I don't know about you but I fall asleep in the linen closet all the time! :)
That's too funny.

Sorry about that other post. I guess that's why you preview before you post. So what I originally said was:
That is hysterical and so Sydney! Where does she get her funny from? I would try using a crib! It seems to work well for mine!
This is Sydney we're talking about. Sydney, who at 20 months decided she didn't want to sleep in a crib anymore and would hook one leg over the side of the crib and launch herself onto the floor--BAM! We let her do that about 10 times one night before we just put her crib mattress on the floor and gave up the crib.
